Duncan Lacroix was born in Welling in Kent, England. He enrolled at Roehampton Institute in London, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Drama and Theatre Studies, then headed to the National University of Ireland, Galway, where he obtained his masters’ in Drama and Theatre.
In 2011, Duncan made his TV debut in Primeval and subsequently appeared in Game of Thrones, Reign, A Terrible Beauty and Vikings. In 2014 he was chosen for the role of his career as Murtagh Fraser in Outlander. He has since made more notable appearances, such as in the western crime-drama film The Sisters Brothers, opposite John C. Reilly, Joaquin Phoenix, and Jake Gyllenhaal, and Outlaw King, opposite Chris Pine.
Duncan is also highly respected in theatre circles, making his stage debut in 2011 as Malvolio in Twelfth Night, and continuing with roles in The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Master Builder, Macbeth, The Applicant, The Ones Who Kill Shooting Stars, and Love Song, among others.
